Failure To Transfer Title

Have you been a victim of a
Failure to Transfer Title
 in Seattle or Washington State?

At times, an auto dealer will fail to transfer a vehicles title rendering it impossible for the vehicle buyer to take full legal ownership of the car or truck.

Do Washington auto dealers have a duty to timely transfer a vehicle title to the new owner?

Under Washington law the obligation of a dealer to transfer title to a purchaser is the single most important function performed by a licensed vehicle dealer. Washington car dealers have duty to “promptly execute the assignment and warranty of title.”

Department of Licensing regulations require Washington auto dealers to transfer title to the consumer within 45 days of the date of vehicle delivery, or 90 days under specific circumstances.

If you have purchased a vehicle and the auto dealer has failed to provide you with the title, contact a Washington consumer protection lawyer.

Under Washington law, the dealer who has failed to transfer a title to you may be liable for violating the Washington Auto Dealers Act, a per se consumer protection violation.

These cases require the knowledge and experience of a Washington odometer fraud lawyer to successfully resolve these matters. Call us or send us an email and we will do what we can to help.
